At Patriot Dental, Dr. Eric Weiner utilizes the latest technology, Simplant to place dental implants virtually, pre-planning every step before the surgery takes place. Simplant integrates data from a CT scan, and provides precise information on the anatomy of the patient. This process reduces or eliminates any complications during surgery and facilitates the dental reconstruction.
The diagram below (Illustration 1) is an exact screen representation of a 3-D Computerized Scan performed on a Simplant Software platform. It shows the mandible (lower jaw) of a patient with simulated prosthetic teeth, implants in the jaw and vital structures. Once a computer study is completed, Dr. Weiner orders surgical stents (guides) from Simplant based on the software study. This stent provides an exact digital match of your jaw and allows Dr. Weiner to surgically place the dental implants effortlessly. This is extremely beneficial to the patient as it reduces operative time as well as increasing patient comfort level.
